Opus G1

The Opus G1 takes traditional gas-fired hydronic heating to a new plateau. The G1 is not a boiler. Instead, it's a hydronic heat source featuring a fully condensing, non-pressurized vessel constructed of high-grade 304L non-corrosive stainless steel. The result is superior performance and an unparalleled efficiency up to 99% AFUE. The G1 also features the Energy Management Control Center (EMC˛), a "plug and play" technology that operates on the simple principle of outdoor reset. So, discover all that the Opus G1 has to offer.

What is the EMC˛?

The EMC˛ comes standard on any Opus product and operates on the simple concept of outdoor reset. The EMC˛ automatically adjusts the supply water temperature of the G1 based on outdoor air temperature giving maximum comfort and efficiency. Installation and set-up is simplified by having a pre-wired, easy-to-program control panel. The control center eliminates complicated wiring and features a remote-mount zone panel, two 15 ft. hard wired umbilical cords (one carrying 120 volts, the second offering low voltage), an outdoor reset control with sensor, a temperature gauge, a remote mount aquastat, an on/off switch, and a terminal strip. The Energy Management Control Center also features a LED readout and an easy step-by-step programming process. The EMC˛ delivers unparalleled performance, simplifies troubleshooting, and implements American ingenuity to optimize any heating environment.

Combustion Side Process

    1) The G1 stainless steel burners fire after the draft fan starts. Hot combustion gases enter the first stage.

    2) Combustion gases travel down the tubes to the collection box, giving up heat by convection and radiation.

    3) Combustion gases travel through the submerged "snorkel" tube and emerge directly on the surface of the G1's water vessel. The "Direct Contact" heat exchange begins.

    4) Hot combustion gases rise through the "condensation tower" where they are showered with water, causing them to rapidly cool and condense as they rise.

Water Side Process

    a) The G1's high head pump moves its hot water from the water vessel through the G1's heat exchanger delivering system water, up to 140°F to the building.

    b) The G1 water emerges from the heat exchanger "cooled" and moves to the spray manifold. The spray manifold G1 water gently showers the hot combustion gases, cooling them to below the condensing point.

c)The G1 water and condensation are reheated in the water vessel. Excess water/condensate is drained.

*99% Efficiency*
